Volunteers Needed at the Polls

October 30, 2023.

I’m Audrey Clement, Independent candidate for Arlington County Board. Thank you for your past support. It is much appreciated, but now I need help at the polls.

The Democrats have been hard at work at the early voting polls handing out the Blue Ballot, which encourages straight ticket voting.

A lot of people vote the Blue Ballot, because they don’t know that straight ticket voting makes elected officials less accountable.

Straight ticket voters are probably unaware, for example, that the all Democrat County Board is planning a substantial tax hike in 2024.

Even if the tax rate doesn’t go up, rising assessments will likely increase average real estate taxes by more than $400. If County Board adopts a 2-cent tax rate hike on top of that, the increase will be more than $600.

If you can’t afford the tax increase, then you should volunteer at the polls for Independents Audrey Clement and Juan Carlos Fierro, because the only way to hold County Board accountable to the taxpayers is to elect fiscal conservatives like Clement and Fierro.

Early voting will continue next week through Saturday, November 4 at the following locations:

  • Courthouse Plaza, 2100 Clarendon Blvd., Ste. 320
  • Walter Reed Community Center, 2909 16th St. South
  • Madison Community Center, 3829 N Stafford St.

If you volunteer on Election Day, November 7, you do not need to stay at your polling place all day. Even an hour at a precinct will work. Here is a link with further information about Election Day voting.

Please let me know by phone, email or text if you can volunteer as a poll greeter at one of the above locations, and help stop a major tax hike.
