July 21, 2025.
I’m Audrey Clement, the Independent candidate for Arlington County Board on November 4. As a 21-year Westover resident, long time civic activist, and past member of the Transportation Commission, I’m running for County Board because the County has pushed harmful policies resulting in increased crime.
A case in point is the County Sheriff’s refusal to honor an ICE detainer on an illegal Guatemalan immigrant and convicted rapist who had already been deported twice. Instead ICE was forced to pick him up on a Courthouse street following his release from jail on July 11.
At the July 19, 2025 County Board meeting, I quoted Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons, who deplored Arlington’s refusal to cooperate with ICE in an interview with Fox News.
To illustrate the threat, I pointed to the Arlington County Police Department’s own data showing an 11% increase in crime in 2024.
Takis made no distinction between presumptive legal immigrants like himself and illegals like the Guatemalan rapist. Nor did he explain how Fox News had falsified its reporting.
Would you patronize a supermarket where both paying and non-paying customers, i.e. shoplifters, are treated equally by store management? Not if you wanted to minimize your grocery bill.
Then why would you vote for a candidate who doesn’t distinguish between legal and illegal immigrants?
You should vote for the candidate who promises to reduce the crime rate by honoring U.S. immigration law, which provides a clear path to legal immigration. That candidate is me. If elected, I also pledge to:
- Seek immediate tax relief for residents and businesses.
- Stop Missing Middle up-zoning.
- Lobby the federal government to restore the federal workforce.
- Reduce the office vacancy rate by inducing federal agencies to relocate here.
- Preserve Arlington’s natural and cultural heritage. Stop clearcutting and teardowns for more infill development.
If you share my agenda, then:
